Eco-responsible hotel in Saint Jean de Monts

Since taking over the hotel in 2024, our ambition has been to limit the impact of our business on the natural environment as much as possible. We are therefore involved on a daily basis through concrete and sustainable actions in water, waste, and energy management, and in promoting biodiversity.

Because Saint Jean de Monts is at once a coastline, marshland, and forest. Because these environments, which represent 80% of the territory, are fragile. Because Saint Jean de Monts also has the largest tourist accommodation capacity on the Atlantic coast of France, with a population that increases tenfold in the summer.

Here's an overview of our eco-friendly actions at the hotel, with a few examples.

We're not going to boast here about sorting waste, using a composter, having dual-flush toilets, or replacing halogen bulbs. Today, this is part of our minimum actions...

Waste Reduction and Management

We don't print brochures to promote the hotel and we try to dematerialize most of our communications to reduce paper, ink, and mailing...

We choose second-hand furniture, decorative items, and professional equipment whenever possible.

We regularly collect waste washed up on the beach by the tides. We go for walks with a bag or bucket and gloves. We combine business with pleasure...

Water Consumption Control

We have implemented a protocol for identifying potential leaks.

We equip each room and suite with a glass carafe. You can drink the tap water and limit the production of plastic waste.

Energy Consumption Control

We have decided to make the hotel a seasonal hotel. This 1925 building is not designed for winter temperatures.

Less greenhouse gas emissions

We have created a new special offer: the Green Offer: travelers who come to visit us by coach receive a refund of their ticket, up to 10% of the total cost of their stay.

Biodiversity

We use natural or eco-labeled cleaning products.

We plant local plant species that require little watering.

We have banned pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and weedkillers. Please be tolerant if you come across weeds...

CSR, our corporate social responsibility

We firmly believe that a quality hotel can go hand in hand with social responsibility.

At breakfast, at the bar, and in the gift shop, we prefer to offer you local products: L'Airelle brioche, Au pré des abeilles honey, La Petite Ramonière beers, La Perle des dieux sardine preserves, Lise Baccara troussepinette...

We favor suppliers - if possible local - who also take environmental, social, and ethical issues into account in their business: laundry, accounting firms, etc.
